Scriptures of the Week

As you go through your week, be sure to take a few moments to pause and reflect on God’s Word.

Luke 1:18-20
Zechariah said to the angel, “How can I be sure this will happen? I’m an old man now, and my wife is also well along in years.” Then the angel said, “I am Gabriel! I stand in the very presence of God. It was he who sent me to bring you this good news! But now, since you didn’t believe what I said, you will be silent and unable to speak until the child is born. For my words will certainly be fulfilled at the proper time.

Hebrews 11:1
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”

2 Corinthians 4:16-18
“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

Romans 15:13
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Or donate online or by check, indicating that it is for the Christmas Food Baskets in the notes area. Any questions please call John (287-0394) or Elaine (615-4166) Swingle.
Thank you for your support!!!!!!

Holiday Bags for VBJDC

The French Circle is coordinating the assembly of Holiday Bags for youth at the Virginia Beach Juvenile Detention Center. This is an important ministry our church has supported for decades. It allows us to share God’s love in a tangible way during a difficult time in their lives. This year, because of COVID-19 we are seeking monetary donations so that we can comply with JDC’s requirements and limit the number of people that come into contact with the Holiday Bags. We usually do 4 bags a year: Halloween, Christmas, Valentines’ Day, and Easter. If you are moved to show God’s love for trouble youth (They need to know God loves them too!) through this ministry you can: Donate online or by check, indicating that it is for the Juvenile Detention Center (JDC) in the notes area.

The Angel Tree

God has blessed our community with caring hearts! All of our angels have been adopted and we have even been able to adopt a few more! Should you want to check on your angel’s details, click here to go to the sign-up page. Remember to pack your UNWRAPPED gifts in a (shopping/jumbo gift/clear leaf) bag. You may include gift wrap (no rolls please) and ribbons for volunteers to wrap the gifts. Please attach the child’s name to the outside of the bag (each bag if there is more than one) and return it to the church narthex by Tuesday, December 1st. This will allow us time to prepare the gifts for pick-up by Human Services. If you have questions contact Mel Davis, Mel10Davis@gmail.com or (757)677-6565. My heart swells with gratitude, God Bless!
