Believing: Studying the Scriptures to provide spiritual Light and grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.
Becoming: Serving others to reflect our hope in Jesus Christ to our community and world.
Christ has asked us to become disciples and to follow him. This is a clear and a powerful statement. This statement charges each one of us to become closer to Christ in every way. It also commits our Church Body to reach out to others and invite them to experience Christ at FAUMC. The mission speaks to our continued need to grow the Church with active Disciples.
The primary principle of the vision of FAUMC is centered on Belonging (Worshiping), Believing (Education), and Becoming (Outreach) Disciples of Jesus Christ. The goal of the Vision is to elevate these elements of the Church so it becomes an exciting Beacon of Hope to the members and others in the community. We are called by God to act, to go and make Disciples. To serve; to minister to our neighbors; to be Christ's Disciples; to hear the word of God; to reach out to others. A Beacon of Hope to our community commits our Church to the highest level of outreach to the community. Our church is being called to share God's love to our community in ways that are relevant to the needs of everyday life. It is our vision that FAUMC provides a beacon to all in our community of God's transforming love.
Belonging: Worshipping to celebrate Jesus Christ and openly invite others to experience God's love is a core value that is paramount to our Church. Openly inviting others to experience God's love. God wants us to love and accept all people. Our Vision is to be known as an "open and inviting Church" that provides an exciting approach to delivering God's love.
Believing: Studying the Scripture includes the entire range of education for children, youth and adults. Providing opportunities to study the Bible together is critical to the growth of our Church. To provide spiritual light is to commit to quality education that enhances the Biblical and theological development of FAUMC is the meaning behind this portion of the vision. Growing as a disciples of Jesus Christ further supports the Vision of the Church.
Becoming: Serving others to reflect our hope in Jesus to our community and the world. This portion of the vision embraces all forms of outreach that encourage serving others. It includes an absolute commitment for outreach by our Church for a wide range of exciting ministries of outreach that are both local and global. Expanding the Children and youth ministries is a clear part of this mission. God has called us to reach out to others who are not in the church to share the good news of Jesus Christ. We are a church that is proud of its purpose and shares it with others.
